Requirements: Knowledge of Hiragana and Katakana
Description:
This course aims to provide students with basic communication skills in everyday situations. You will learn the essential characteristics of the Japanese language. At the end of the course, you will be able to understand the elements in a basic sentence.
Each week, you will study a new grammatical aspect of Japanese, and be provided with new useful vocabulary for everyday conversation.
We will provide some sessions to learn the most common JLPT N5 kanji, exploring how to use them. We aim for fast and interactive learning: for each lesson, we will practice pronunciation with visual content, such as images and videos, and role-play between student and teacher.
COURSE SYLLABUS
Week 1:
Expressing state of being → “です”。and the particle “は”
Particle “か”: asking basic questions
WEEK 2
Verb “です”: affirmative and negative form → Desu/ Dewa arimasen
Demonstratives → “これ”・“それ”・“あれ” / “この”・“その”・“あの”
WEEK 3
Asking basic questions with Interrogatives → “何”・“だれ”・“どこ”
Expressing possession with the particle の (...は...のです)
Use of “あります”・“います”. Practical use asking questions with interrogative pronouns
WEEK 4
Particle “を” → introduction of basic verbs (part 1)
Basic verbs (part 2) → Past /Negative past
Use of the verb “To do”: “します”
WEEK 5
How to say the days of the week; Interrogative → “いつ”, particles “からーまで”
Asking the time: numbers from 1 to 12 - How to say months
WEEK 6
Adjectives - basic adjectives, the difference between words ending in “-な” and words ending in “-い”
Expressing “I like...” → …“がすきです
